Job description

This is a very exciting role for a Treasury professional who wants to join a high performing team within AXA XL Global Treasury, which is an integral part of the Division's Investment Department and is responsible for the division's bank relationships and credit facilities, foreign currency and cash management. The role will allow the successful candidate to contribute meaningfully to all aspects of the division's global relationship with banks, with a particular focus on credit facilities, cash management solutions and foreign exchange transactions and derivatives.

Responsibilities
  • Managing relationships with key banking partners on all important topics including new banking services, service quality levels, new technology and system integration; pro‑actively identifying and addressing gaps in service delivery to optimise AXA XL's banking infrastructure and support business growth. This includes effectively negotiating with and managing expectations of banking partners, and being able to push back when necessary.
  • Supporting execution of AXA XL's financing activities, incl. revolving credit facilities, bank and syndicated loan facilities (incl., LOCs), and internal and external debt movement; coordinating with legal, compliance and operations teams.
  • Developing relationship with AXA Group Treasury team as it relates to AXA policies and standards, ensure transaction activities align with delegated authorities (e.g. credit facilities, LOCs, debt issuances, FX transactions).
  • Preparing and maintaining treasury reports on banking partners interactions for senior management with key open items for escalation and "share of wallet" for each key banking partner.

The role will require the successful candidate to identify and build effective relationships with a range of important stakeholders across AXA XL and AXA Group to drive ongoing exposure management and process improvement.

Qualifications
  • Financial acumen and treasury expertise: Educated to an honour's degree level with a focus on finance, treasury management or a related financial discipline. Professional qualifications (e.g., IACT or AMCT Treasury qualification, CFA or CII) preferred. Demonstrated experience or clear intention to pursue treasury‑specific qualifications.
  • Banking or market experience: Experience in Treasury is required, Investment Banking or Financial Services, preferably within a large, multinational organisation. Hands‑on experience with cash management, credit facilities, FX transactions or derivatives a distinct advantage.
  • Relationship management and communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present complex financial concepts clearly to senior stakeholders. Demonstrated success managing relationships with external banking partners and cross‑functional internal teams, including the ability to negotiate, manage expectations and push back when necessary.
  • Flexibility and learning agility: Comfortable working on both day‑to‑day operational tasks and strategic projects. Eager to learn new tools, markets and processes; adaptable to changing business priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Process excellence and attention to details: Strive for very high standards; demonstrate continuous improvement mindset by identifying inefficiencies in Treasury workflows and processes. Meticulous in transaction documentation, reconciliation and audit preparation.
  • Resilience and commercial awareness: Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities. Commercial awareness; understand how treasury decisions impact group liquidity, profitability and risk profile.
