Qualifications

Specialist Teaching & Learning Assistant

Location: Derby (DE3)

Pay Rate: £100 - £115 per day

Contract: Temp to Perm

Start Date: 24th November 2025

Long Term Futures (LTF) are working with a nurturing specialist provision in Derby (DE3) within a Multi Academy Trust, supporting over 160 young people aged 11‑16. The pupils at the school have a range of complex needs, including autism, SEMH, and communication or sensory processing difficulties, all of whom have an EHCP. LTF are seeking dedicated Specialist Teaching & Learning Assistants to join our supportive team. The aim of the school is to re‑engage their learners with education and reach their full potential, academically, socially, and emotionally, through personalised learning pathways and a caring, inclusive environment.

About the Role
  • Provide tailored one‑to‑one and small group support for pupils with behavioural needs
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment
  • Support pupils' academic progress as well as their emotional wellbeing and personal development
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families to deliver personalised learning plans
  • Contribute to behaviour management and therapeutic support strategies
About You
  • Your DBS must be on the updated system
  • If successful you must be ready to start work on Monday 24th November
  • Experience in SEN settings, alternative provision, PRUs, or youth support roles
  • Strong behaviour management skills and emotional resilience
  • A calm, compassionate, and adaptable approach
  • Confident working independently and as part of a team
