A local council in Aylesbury is seeking a committed part-time Specialist Teacher for Multi-Sensory Impairment. The role involves providing support for children with SEND throughout Buckinghamshire, ensuring effective delivery of services alongside a team of specialists. Applicants must hold Qualified Teacher Status and have relevant teaching experience. We wish to appoint a committed part- time teacher for Multi-Sensory Impairment to join us to work throughout Buckinghamshire to support children and young people at home, in early years, mainstream, special schools and post-16 from 0-25 years.
As part of the Specialist Teaching Team, you will play an important role in promoting the inclusion of pupils with a multi-sensory impairment across the county. You will work alongside colleagues from the Hearing Support and Vision Impairment teams. The primary objective is to ensure the effective delivery of both statutory and SEND support services for children and young people with SEND and their families throughout the county.
This is a part time role working 26 hours per week.
Buckinghamshire SEND Service delivers a range of services to support leadership, management and improved outcomes for children and young people as well as schools and early years settings across Buckinghamshire and beyond.
The Specialist Teachers work with settings to promote the inclusion and progress of children and young people with SEND to help them achieve the best possible outcomes and enable everyone working with these pupils to clearly understand their strengths and differences.
The MSI Specialist Teacher offer support and advice regarding strategies and interventions needed for pupils to access the curriculum. You will join a supportive team of Specialist Teachers and work alongside Education Health and Care plan Coordinators (EHCCos) and Educational Psychologists as part of the wider SEND team.
