Job summary

Qualifications

  • 3 years’ experience in a health or social care setting or equivalent.

  • At least 1 year of experience working with learning disabilities or autism.
  • Experience managing behaviours of concern.
  • Full driving licence or ability to travel independently.

At Positive Futures, we support people with learning disabilities, acquired brain injuries, and autism, helping them live fulfilling and independent lives. As a Specialist Relief Support Worker, you’ll be at the heart of this mission, providing essential support and making a real impact.

Responsibilities
  • Providing person centred support.
  • Supporting people to be safe and healthy.
  • Supporting independence, social and communication skills.
  • Coaching and mentoring of staff and volunteers.
Skills and Qualifications
  • To apply for this role, you must have: One of the following: 3 years’ experience in a health or social care setting.
  • Or QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) And have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a health and social care setting. It is the applicant’s responsibility to demonstrate how their qualification is equivalent.
  • Or QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) And have a minimum of 1 years' experience in a health and social care setting. It is the applicant’s responsibility to demonstrate how their qualification is equivalent.
  • Or Psychology Degree And have a minimum of 1 years’ experience in a health and social care setting.
  • Or Psychology master's degree And have a minimum of 1 years’ experience in a health and social care setting.
  • And At least 1 years' experience of working with people with a learning disability or autism.
  • At least 1 years' experience in managing behaviours of concern through the implementation of Positive Behaviour Support.
  • Full, valid driving licence or an ability to travel independently to meet the requirements of the post.
  • Be registered, or be eligible for registration on appointment, on the appropriate part of the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC) or other relevant professional body.
