Overview

An experienced Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) is needed to join the Head and Neck Cancer and Voice teams at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH). The role involves assessment, differential diagnosis and treatment of adult communication, swallowing and voice disorders, with opportunities for service development, research and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist assessment, differential diagnosis and treatment for adults with communication, swallowing and voice disorders in the Head and Neck Cancer and Voice teams.
  • Contribute to FEES, videofluoroscopy and voice prosthesis management in laryngectomy.
  • Deliver education, training and advice to patients, carers, SLT colleagues, other health care professionals, students and voluntary organisations.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure inter‑professional patient care for patients with communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Attend weekly ward rounds, MDT meetings/clinics, radiotherapy clinic and liaise with dietitians, clinical nurse specialists and other specialists.
  • Participate in service development, research projects and regular team meetings. Receive regular supervision and engaging in evidence‑based practice.
Qualifications / Experience
  • Qualified SLT with relevant degree and NHS registration.
  • Experience in Head and Neck Cancer and/or Voice disorder therapy is desirable.
  • Competence in FEES, videofluoroscopy and voice prosthesis management is required.
  • Strong communication, inter‑professional teamwork and service development skills.
