Job summary

Bridge College is seeking an experienced Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join a multidisciplinary team supporting 16–25 year olds with learning difficulties, disabilities, and autism. You will independently manage a clinical caseload, assess and treat communication needs, and collaborate with teachers, OTs, psychologists, and therapists to deliver high-quality therapy in an educational setting.

Qualifications

• Degree (or equivalent) in Speech and Language Therapy.
• Registered with HCPC.
• Member of RCSLT.
• At least two years' post-qualification experience.
• Experience working with children/young people with Autism Spectrum Condition.
• Knowledge of evidence-based approaches.
• Understanding of autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions.

Responsibilities

• Manage an independent caseload of students with autism and complex communication needs.
• Complete initial and ongoing speech, language and communication assessments.
• Develop and deliver evidence-based intervention programmes tailored to individual needs.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support student outcomes.
• Provide clinical supervision and support to junior Speech and Language Therapists.
• Deliver training, consultation and advice to school staff to promote communication-friendly practice.
• Contribute to development of clinical policies and practice areas.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and outcome measures.
• Engage in continuing professional development to keep practice current.
