Overview

A Vacancy at The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The SLT team is looking for an enthusiastic Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join our adult in‑patient service and neurorehabilitation team covering the acute Stroke Unit and Alderbourne neuro‑rehabilitation ward.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage neurorehabilitation patients, including dysphagia management and development of communication therapy plans.
  • Deliver care on the acute Stroke Unit and Alderbourne neuro‑rehabilitation ward.
  • Achieve Videofluoroscopy and/or FEES competencies.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and contribute to service development projects and outcome measures.
  • Provide peer support, attend monthly CPD sessions, and engage in evidence‑based practice sessions.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist with experience in neurorehabilitation.
  • Previous experience of dysphagia assessment and management, and the development of communication therapy plans.
  • Experience with Videofluoroscopy and MDT training is desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem‑solving skills.
  • Supported studying with academic links to Brunel University is a plus.
