Job description

Working alongside experienced colleagues you would support band 5 and band 4 colleagues. You would support children on our core clinical pathways (Speech Sound Disorders, Language Difficulties, Social Communication) with the opportunity to do some work with our fluency specialist on the Stammering pathway. The SLT team is made up of Band 5 and 6 Therapists, Technical Assistants, Apprentices, and both Specialist Team Leads and Specialist Clinical Leads (Band 7). We provide Speech and Language Therapy for children and young people aged 0 - 19 years across Oxfordshire in a range of settings. The Service delivery model is based on six Clinical Pathways and underpinned by the current evidence base. There will be opportunities for you to get involved in service improvement projects. You will have opportunities to work alongside other members of the CIT team - Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and CIT Assistant Practitioners, as well as collaborating with the wider MDT in Education, Health and Social Services. We also have close links with SLTs at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, where specialist services such as the Regional Cleft Palate and Cochlear Implant service are based. You will have your own caseload to manage and prioritise, delivering timely assessment and intervention packages, contributing to the SEND process, engaging in clinical meetings and delivering training to staff and parents.
