Job summary

Together Trust is seeking a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our inclusive team at Openshaw, Manchester. You will deliver high-quality SLT within a specialist educational setting for young people aged 16–25 with learning difficulties, disabilities, and autism.

You will independently manage a clinical caseload, perform assessments, develop individualised intervention plans, and collaborate with teachers and other professionals.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy with HCPC registration.
  • RCSTLT membership is desirable.
  • Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience.
  • Experience working with autism spectrum conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an independent caseload of students with autism and complex communication needs.
  • Carry out initial and ongoing speech and language assessments; develop intervention plans.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapy; monitor progress and adapt programmes.
  • Supervise junior therapists and provide supervision to staff.

You will work collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants, occupational therapists, educational psychologists, positive behaviour support practitioners and counsellors to help students achieve their full communication potential.**About the Role**As a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will independently manage a clinical caseload of students with a wide range of speech, language and communication needs, including those with complex communication profiles and specialist requirements such as Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).You will carry out comprehensive assessments, develop and implement individualised intervention programmes, monitor progress and provide expert advice to colleagues and families.
