Job description
Specialist Registrar, Neurology. Remote working opportunity!

About the role: Specialist Registrar, Neurology

The role of a Medefer Registrar is to consult with patients remotely, obtaining more detailed information about their condition, following their GP referral to Medefer. This is then reviewed by our Consultants to support their clinical decision-making.

You can work as many hours as you would like each week, with no minimum or maximum expectation, and you can decide the days and times you wish to work, whether that be evenings, weekends, or weekdays (providing patient cases are available).

This is a fully remote role, and due to the nature of the role you must have a private and secure space from which to work with reliable internet access.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities

Clerking patients within your speciality via telephone assessment following a GP referral made to our Virtual Hospital.

Take a detailed patient history during clerking calls to support the Consultant to form a management plan for the patient.

Discuss risks and benefits of a surgical procedure or invasive test which has been recommended as a possibility by a Consultant, documenting the patient’s agreement in principle (please note all patients will be formally consented as per normal at a later stage).

About us

About Medefer

We work alongside the NHS to provide a virtual outpatient service and deliver better, faster care for patients. Our vision is to completely reframe the way that healthcare is delivered, because every patient deserves the best possible healthcare.

There really isn’t a much better purpose, and we can and do make a difference for patients every single day. People who are sick, worried, or in pain desperately want to have a doctor review their symptoms and get them on the path to health again, or even just put their mind at rest. Medefer makes that happen. WE make that happen. We are included in the NHS Increasing Capacity Framework, and we are CQC regulated.

We are unique in what we do.

And we need exceptional people, like you.
