A healthcare provider in Lincoln is seeking an experienced Biomedical Scientist for their Cellular Pathology department. Responsibilities include performing routine investigations, maintaining laboratory equipment, and mentoring trainees. Candidates must have HCPC registration and some progress in the IBMS Specialist Portfolio. The department offers flexible working arrangements and operates a seven-day service.
The Cellular Pathology department is seeking an experienced and qualified Biomedical Scientist to join our well‑established team in Lincoln. Located at Lincoln County Hospital, the department delivers a centralised Histopathology service for Lincolnshire’s two NHS Trusts and five main hospital sites, receiving in the region of 65,000 requests per annum. The laboratory provides an UKAS‑accredited service which includes Paraffin wax Histology, Diagnostic Cytopathology, Morphological staining, Special Staining, Immunocytochemistry and Whole Slide Imaging, and has also deployed molecular diagnostics.
Candidates must have HCPC registration and should have completed the IBMS Specialist Portfolio (or have equivalent experience). Consideration will also be given to candidates who can demonstrate substantial progress in completion of the Specialist Portfolio.
The directorate delivers a seven‑day service to meet cancer turnaround times. The post holder will support this on a rotational basis. The department operates from 08:00 to 17:30, and the ability to work at other Path Links sites will be required on an occasional basis.
