Job summary

NHS Lanarkshire is seeking a Specialist Radiographer in East Kilbride to justify, authorise and perform radiographic examinations, providing high quality imaging for patients referred by clinicians. You will supervise Radiographers, Assistant Practitioners and SHCSW to ensure continuity of service delivery.

The role requires HCPC registration, degree-level radiography education, and postgraduate expertise in radiology practice.

Qualifications

• Registered Radiographer with HCPC registration.
• Degree-level education or higher in radiography.
• Postgraduate expertise in radiology practice.
• Full, valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Justify, authorise and perform radiographic exams to minimise radiation exposure.
• Supervise Radiographers, Assistant Practitioners and SHCSW.
• Implement radiographic procedures and ensure safety.
• Assess patient condition before and during each examination.
• Clinically evaluate images to determine need for additional images.
• Maintain safe operation of x-ray equipment and troubleshoot faults.
• Exercise responsibility and decision-making in complex situations.
