A healthcare trust in Rotherham is seeking a Band 6 Podiatrist to join its Integrated Diabetes Specialist team. The role involves providing diabetic foot care in various settings, including community clinics and home visits. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Podiatry and demonstrate strong clinical skills. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Podiatrist working across a variety of settings including community clinics, home visits and hospital site. You will be working as a core member of the Integrated Diabetes Specialist team at Rotherham Foundation Trust Hospital, including the opportunity to work as part of a MDT alongside colleagues from Endocrine, Orthotics, Vascular Surgery, Podiatric Surgery and OPAT.
There is also the opportunity to work on the wards with inpatients and be part of department audits as well as national audits. You will also work as part of the community podiatry service having the opportunity to perform nail surgery, offer routine care and assessment clinics for eligible patients, you may also be involved in Biomechanics clinics.
Our Podiatry department has a proven track record of internal promotions and upskilling of staff being able to study for the non medical prescribing course, IRMER training for requesting x-rays, shockwave therapy, acupuncture, steroid injection etc. The role is community-based but will involve provision of diabetic foot care to patients attending our hospital sites and in their own homes/care homes with active diabetic foot complications.
If successful you will be an integral part of the Podiatry team working alongside Podiatry Assistants, band 6 Podiatrists and our Band 7 Lead Podiatrists (high risk and biomechanics).
The role is community-based but will involve provision of diabetic foot care to patients attending our hospital sites and in their own homes/care homes with active diabetic foot complications, core Podiatry, nail surgery, Biomechanics, new patient assessments and reassessments with view to discharge appropriately and more.
