Job description
Specialist Podiatrist

Closing date: 19 January 2026.

Position: Part‑time, fixed‑term (27 hours per week) maternity leave cover, contract until 30 September 2026, within the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

Key responsibilities
  • Work autonomously managing a high‑risk podiatric caseload in single or multi‑chair clinics and domiciliary settings.
  • Assess, diagnose and plan treatment for patients with a wide range of clinical needs.
  • Help set up and manage virtual and telephone clinics.
  • Participate in nail surgery, MSK procedures, education and audit.
  • Link with the integrated diabetic foot pathway to support reduction of lower‑limb amputations.
  • Maintain clinical governance, risk management and professional guidelines compliance.
  • Work effectively as part of a multi‑disciplinary team and maintain excellent communication with staff and patients.
Qualifications & experience
  • Degree or diploma in podiatry, current HCPC registration and local analgesia certificate.
  • Minimum of 2 years post‑graduate experience.
  • Good knowledge of the high‑risk foot and confidence in managing foot ulceration.
  • Experience in lone working, strong understanding of clinical governance and risk management.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Interest in clinical audit, research and service development.
Working pattern

27 hours per week, 08:30 am – 04:30 pm Monday to Friday.

Salary and benefits

Annual salary £38,682 to £46,580 pro rata; pension, flexible working, wellbeing support, staff discounts and cycle‑to‑work scheme.
