Job Description

As a Specialist Planner you will be part of the Civil Portfolio Planning Planning and Control team and have the opportunity to develop into a Subject Matter Expert (SME). The Civil Planning and Control team own rules tools processes and capability across the Civil business.

You will develop deploy and support functional processes tools training and systems that enable the total supply chain to produce credible plans that balance cost and performance providing business support and coaching where necessary and developing communities of practice. You will champion ERP compliance and drive improvement through engagement with our end users on performance measures.

We are constantly looking to improve our tools and you will be part of the part of the team responsible for the further development training and deployment of these. You will interact with key stakeholders across various levels and become a key user for these systems within the business.

Key Accountabilities
  • Ensure processes balance cost inventory risk and delivery performance by considering their effect on the whole value stream.
  • To be equally responsible for the role of both technology and people in the design and definition of systems and processes.
  • Prepare both mandatory and advisory documentation of processes and system in standard formats
  • Develop and use metrics to monitor process performance identifying potential hazards to the achievement of delivery cost and inventory objectives and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop the capability of end users of the process through coaching and the preparation and delivery of training material.
  • Provide the means by which businesses will manage the process compliance of their users. Support business requests for assistance in improving compliance
  • Respond to business requests for specialist expertise investigation and problem solving as required.
  • Understand the available and emerging capability of deployed systems identifying opportunities to maximise business benefit. Support technical interface with third party systems suppliers.
  • Lead or participate in integrated teams delivering new or reconfigured systems capability.
  • Where appropriate ensure we have the right level of cross functional engagement
Who we’re looking for

  • Knowledge of Planning & Control SAP and / or MRP.
  • Ideally has some Aftermarket Operations or Value Streams knowledge or experience
  • Has consistently delivered results within a Planning & Control environment.

  • Passion for driving and developing functional capability
  • A willingness to get involved drive improvements and deal with ambiguity

The professional level and salary of the position will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate but is anticipated to be Staff Grade 7-10.
