Specialist Physiotherapist within Occupational Health

We are looking for applicants to apply for the post of Specialist Physiotherapist within Occupational Health. This role is suitable for a Physiotherapist who has experience within working an occupational health service in the past or an MSK specialist Registered Nurse who has worked within an occupational health service previously.

The successful post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for providing a quality Occupational Health and Well being service to employees of the Trust and several external contracts from both the private and public sector.

The main duty of the role will be to assist in the delivery of Occupational Health and Wellbeing (OH) services to Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust. To work from the Occupational Health and Wellbeing Department and offsite as part of a multidisciplinary team and on an individual basis. To undertake a range of occupational health related clinical activities in line with statutory Health & Safety Legislation, mandatory and local policies and procedures.

You will provide expert advice to the Trust and external contracts on fitness for work/returns to work and to provide workplace ergonomic assessments ( including DSE assessment advice) to prevent/reduce the risk of musculoskeletal injury. To promote good musculoskeletal health.

Main duties of the job

Work alongside the current Health of Service and Occupational Health Managers to deliver an Occupational Health Service from a Physiotherapy perspective. To provide physiotherapy, occupational health case management advice to staff, management and HR.

Provide early and easy access to high standard, highly specialist physiotherapy assessment, treatment and advice. Facilitate the early and safe return to work of staff on sickness absence through workplace assessment and phased return to work programmes. Liaise with external health care providers as appropriate regarding individuals' fitness to work/return to work.

Undertake regular workplace assessments ( this may include workplace site visits and DSE related advice) and provide specialist reports and advice to management. Involvement with appropriate working groups, initiatives and health programmes. Continuously evaluate and develop the Occupational Health Physiotherapy service alongside the Occupational Health management team.

Participate in developing and implementing relevant Occupational Health Policies and standards. Remain a subject expert within Physiotherapy within an occupational health service.
