Job summary

A local charity organization in Coventry seeks a Specialist Physiotherapist to provide care for patients with life-limiting conditions. The successful candidate will work independently within the Inpatient Unit and conduct both individual and group sessions as part of various Wellbeing programmes. Job description

At The Myton Hospices, we provide specialist care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses, and their loved ones, from the point of diagnosis to end of life. We are a much-loved and well supported charity, at the heart of our community. We have three hospices, a range of community services, and 26 charity shops in Coventry and Warwickshire. The Specialist Physiotherapist will work with people with a range of life limiting conditions which may include: Cancer, cardiac or respiratory conditions or long-term neurological conditions. They will work within the Inpatient Unit and also deliver both individual and group sessions within a range of Wellbeing programmes such as the Fatigue and Breathlessness Programme and Exercise group to people attending the Myton Hospices.

Responsibilities
  • Working as an autonomous therapist with responsibility for the effective delivery of specialist physiotherapy services.
  • Organising and delivery of group exercises.
  • Ordering/monitoring equipment for patients and carrying out safety checks on Mytons equipment.
  • Attending/contributing to IPU handover and MDT meetings.
  • Contributing to care planning and raising awareness of the physiotherapy role.
