The IRS is led by a multi-disciplinary team who provide a comprehensive approach to patients with intestinal failure receiving parenteral (feeding intravenously) or enteral (tube feeding) nutrition. The role of the team is to assess, manage and support individuals with intestinal failure, both as inpatients and in the community, and to help them lead as full lives as possible. The postholder will work within the close-knit team of consultant gastroenterologists, highly specialist dietitians, and clinical nurse specialists, as well as with senior managers and clinicians within the Gastroenterology and Therapies Directorates.
