Job summary

Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Champion to advance perinatal mental health across the 0–19 Public Health Family Health Service. You will drive early recognition of attachment and parent–infant relationship challenges and ensure timely access to specialist support.

You will lead training, consultancy, and collaboration with IAPT services, health visitors, and other partners. The role is fixed-term until 31 March 2027, focusing on service improvement, data development,

Responsibilities

• Support health visiting teams to access appropriate care pathways
• Support use of the Ready to Relate intervention implementation with health visiting teams
• Train the 0-5 workforce in early recognition and basic interventions related to suboptimal perinatal mental health
• Support training of health visiting teams to embrace new ways of working using digital platforms
• Develop and provide a consultation model to support health visiting teams in their perinatal mental health work
• Identify what prevalence data is required to be collated
• Support health visiting teams to collect prevalence data and evidence impact
• Develop the interface between health visiting services, IAPT and SMABS
• Engage with the Perinatal mental health steering group to identify opportunities for development across the district
• Contribute to teaching and training on issues related to perinatal mental health, parent-infant relationship, within 0-19 services
• Development work; stakeholder engagement; integration to a multidisciplinary team; leadership of quality improvement and best practice

Job description

Fixed term until 31st March 2027

We are recruiting a Champion with compassionate and a transformative approach to perinatal mental health across the 0–19 Public Health Family Health Service, ensuring women, babies, and families receive the support they need to thrive. To Drive the early recognition of attachment and parent–infant relationship challenges, helping families access the right specialist support at the right time. To build strong partnerships with IAPT services, health visitors, and multi-agency colleagues to create seamless pathways that enhance outcomes for families. Inspire confidence and capability across the workforce through expert consultation, reflective supervision, and engaging training in perinatal mental health.
