Job Summary

Central Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership (CCICP) is looking for a positive and motivated Band 6 Pelvic Health Physiotherapist to join our pelvic health team in the Community Bladder & Bowel Service. The team is expanding to support the growing demand for pelvic health care. Candidates should have a keen interest in pelvic floor health and associated conditions to support and shape the service, meeting patient expectations and best practice guidelines. You will work alongside experienced Pelvic Health Physiotherapists, a Band 7 Clinical Lead, two Band 6 Clinical Specialist Physiotherapists, Community Bladder & Bowel Specialist Nurses, and Acute Trust teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a Clinical Specialist, providing assessment and treatment for male and female patients with complex pelvic floor dysfunction in an outpatient setting.
  • Demonstrate advanced communication skills when treating complex patients, overcoming barriers such as embarrassment or anxiety.
  • Receive in‑house and external training to develop competencies, including conducting internal vaginal and anorectal examinations.
  • Use evidence‑based principles to assess, plan, and deliver individualised treatment programmes.
  • Assist the Clinical Team Lead, Specialist Nurses, and other physiotherapists with the day‑to‑day running of clinics and participate in MDT meetings.
  • Help develop, promote, and improve the service within primary and secondary care settings.
  • Supervise, educate, and support junior staff, assistants, and external students on placement where applicable.
  • Work autonomously to manage a defined complex patient caseload as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Respect patients’ individuality, values, and cultural diversity, providing sensitive care.
  • Obtain consent for treatment, motivate patients, and overcome barriers such as cognitive or sensory impairments.
  • Formulate evidence‑based individualised treatment plans in agreement with patients.
  • Implement specialist individual and/or group interventions for patients with diverse presentations and complex needs.
  • Monitor progress, review treatment plans, and facilitate achievement of goals.
  • Provide appropriate oral and written information for patients and carers.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in line with professional standards and local policies.
  • Record and submit clinical PROMS and provide timely written reports to referring agents.
  • Ensure the safe and timely discharge of patients, liaising with other agencies as necessary.
  • Maintain competence in the safe use of equipment, providing support and training to staff and patients.
Person Specification
  • Essential Qualifications – HCPC registered Physiotherapist; experience working within the NHS.
  • Desirable Qualifications – experience supporting student physiotherapists; experience working with assistants.
  • Essential Experience – experience working in Pelvic Health.
  • Desirable Experience – completion of POGP or equivalent course.
  • Essential Skills – evidence of independently managing pelvic health patients; evidence of multidisciplinary team working; attendance at postgraduate courses relevant to pelvic health.
  • Desirable Skills – clinical educator training.
