A major healthcare provider in the UK is seeking a passionate dietitian to lead the paediatric major trauma service. The role involves representing the dietetic service in critical meetings, engaging in research and service improvement, and working within a robust clinical team. Ideal candidates should have a BSc in Dietetics and a strong interest in paediatrics. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dietitian with a passion for paediatric dietetics to further develop their career as the lead dietitian for the paediatric major trauma service. This involves work with other members of the major trauma team at RHC to deliver a high quality MDT service. This will include representing the dietetic service at all relevant major trauma service meetings and ward rounds and to feedback to the dietetic service on any developments or issues raised at these meetings. To be the lead on research, audit and service improvement for dietetics in the major trauma service. The clinical caseload will vary depending on the needs of the service and will include paediatric intensive care, orthopaedics, neurosurgery and neurology.
Although paediatric experience is preferred, we are also inviting applications from dietitians who are interested in paediatrics as a career but have perhaps not had the opportunity to work in this area yet. Funding for the BDA post-registration paediatric modules would also be available.
The Paediatric Dietetic Service has a team of 30 Dietitians, based across 4 sites : Royal Hospital for Children, Royal Alexandra Hospital, Paisley, Inverclyde Royal Hospital and the Vale of Leven Hospital. The Royal Hospital for Children is one of the largest paediatric centres in the UK and is a national and tertiary referral centre for a wide range of paediatric specialties. You will work within a larger clinical team of dietitians and receive excellent peer support and opportunities for personal and professional development. You will also participate in the Scottish student clinical placement programme. You will have a BSc in Dietetics or equivalent and be registered with the HCPC.
We invite applications if you can demonstrate a core knowledge of nutrition and growth with evidence of relevant work experience and post graduate training / CPD either in paediatrics or other relevant specialties such as complex nutrition support.
