Overview

A key part of the role is to provide direct clinical work, promote psychological thinking with all members of the team by helping staff to develop formulations for clients, offering supervision and joint work with the team, supporting staff wellbeing and providing training in psychological theory and its implementation.

Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist psychological assessment and formulation, and the delivery of evidence based psychological therapy and clinical supervision.
  • Contribute to the collective clinical leadership of the service and to service development within the locality and the professional leadership of psychological professions.
  • Deliver and supervise evidence based psychological interventions for SMHP and support staff wellbeing and development of formulations for clients in collaboration with the team.
Qualifications
  • Post-graduate training (doctoral level equivalent) in clinical / counselling / forensic psychology (or its equivalent prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS and registration as a Practitioner Psychologist with the HCPC.
  • Significant experience and competencies in delivering and supervising evidence based psychological intervention for SMHP.
