Job description

We have an opportunity for a Specialist Nurse to join their team of staff in the Oncology department. This is a bank role working on an "as and when required" basis; you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence. Our shifts are scheduled Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 5:00pm, typically lasting 7.5 hours. We also offer flexible working hours to accommodate shorter shifts if that better suits your commitments.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver safe, high‑quality, evidence‑based care within your area of specialism, acting as a clinical expert and role model.
  • Support assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management of patients with complex or long‑term conditions.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of care pathways and protocols based on national guidelines and best practice.
  • Provide education, support, and counselling to patients and families, empowering them to understand and manage their health conditions.
  • Act as a key contact for patients, ensuring consistent, coordinated care throughout their treatment journey.
  • Signpost to additional services and resources to support holistic care.
  • Work as part of a team on a fast‑paced chemotherapy unit.
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse (Adult, Child, or Mental Health, depending on speciality) with valid NMC registration.
  • Significant post‑registration experience in the relevant specialty area.
  • Demonstrable specialist knowledge and advanced clinical skills within a defined field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Chemotherapy competent with completion of the UKONS SACT passport.

Salary: Up to £24.00 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification). Circle Health Group offers a competitive hourly rate.
