A healthcare provider in Birmingham is seeking a Specialist Midwife for Maternal Health and Wellbeing to lead efforts in supporting women affected by FGM. This part-time permanent role involves providing specialist midwifery care, offering training on related care, and ensuring compliance with health guidelines. We are seeking an experienced and compassionate midwife to lead our directorate response to FGM and ensure women and families recieve the highest standard of care, support and advocacy . This is a key specialist role within our Vulnerable womens team acting as the clinical lead delivering high quality culturally sensitive care to women affected by FGM.
To provide specialist midwifery care for women affected by FGM.
To offer expert advice and training to all midwives obstetricians and wider staff on FGM related care and related safeguarding .
To work closely with multi agency partners inclusing social care and third sector organisations.
To ensure compliance with statutory reporting and national guidance .
Contribute to audits and service delivery of an effective FGM care pathway.
To provide training to all staff regarding FGM including deinfibulation
