Recruitment

We’re recruiting for a Specialist Educator in Engineering Power Networks to join our team at Loughborough College.

Role Overview

The Specialist Educator will deliver a case load of taught delivery, practical activity and support tutorials each week, while spending the remainder of the hours on preparation and marking. Training in teaching and assessment for higher education will be provided, along with in-class mentoring and support for the preparation of materials and activities.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver taught sessions, practical workshops and support tutorials.
  • Prepare lecture materials, assessments and mark student work.
  • Collaborate with co‑faculty on curriculum development.
  • Provide on‑site support at other locations, potentially working at employers’ premises in the UK for up to four weeks at a time.
Travel and Equipment

Accommodation will be provided and travel expenses to and from the site each week will be paid. A valid UK driving licence and access to personal transport are required.

Qualifications / Experience
  • An electrical engineering degree and extensive professional experience in power generation, networks, distribution or high current/high voltage applications.
  • An electrical engineering HNC or HND and extensive professional experience in power generation, distribution or high current/high voltage applications, with some supervisory experience.
