Job summary

Allscreens Nationwide Ltd in North London is seeking compassionate Specialist Learning Support Assistants to join our SEND team from September 2026. You will support learners with a range of needs, helping them access education and develop literacy, numeracy, and independence.

You will work closely with teachers and professionals, follow care plans and EHCP outcomes, provide personal care when required, and contribute to learner reviews while promoting wellbeing and safeguarding.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should demonstrate ability to communicate clearly with learners and staff.
  • Experience supporting learners with SEND, learning disabilities, or additional needs is preferred.
  • Willingness to provide personal care and promote safeguarding and learner wellbeing.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to learners with SEND.
  • Support literacy, numeracy, communication, and life skills development.
  • Assist learners to engage in lessons, enrichment activities, and work experience opportunities.
  • Provide personal care support where required, including toileting, feeding, dressing and hygiene.
  • Support learners with mobility needs using appropriate manual handling techniques and equipment.
  • Follow individual care plans, risk assessments and EHCP outcomes.
  • Support learners with medical needs, including medication administration and PEG feeding where trained.
  • Promote independence, confidence, wellbeing and positive behaviour.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, families and external agencies.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to learner reviews.

About the Role

We are seeking compassionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic Specialist Learning Support Assistants to join our SEND team from September 2026.

This rewarding role involves supporting learners with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), physical disabilities, and complex medical needs.

Working closely with teaching staff and specialist professionals, you will help learners access education, develop independence, improve literacy and numeracy skills, and achieve their individual goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to learners with SEND.

  • Training in Manual Handling, PEG Feeding, Medication Administration, Makaton, or Positive Behaviour Support.
  • Qualifications in Education, SEND, Health & Social Care, or a related field.
