A leading healthcare trust in the UK is seeking a professional to provide advanced clinical care to children with learning difficulties and other health-related challenges. The role involves leadership in the Community Dental Service and assisting with operational duties under the Clinical Director. Applicants should have experience in managing pediatric dental care, including sedation. You will work closely with the Clinical Director, and will be responsible for the provision of advanced clinical care to children with learning difficulties, physical disabilities, mental health problems, medically compromised, severe anxiety or phobias and other disability or conditions that directly or indirectly affects their oral health. You will provide advanced clinical care to children in line with the defined complexity levels 1, 2 and 3a as detailed in the Commissioning Standards for Dental Specialities - Paediatric Dentistry. This will include sedation and general anaesthesia, domiciliary care, provision of oral health care to those in local secure settings, screening and epidemiology and oral health promotion. You will be responsible to the Clinical Director and will assist them as required in the day to day operational activities of the Community Dental Service. They will be expected to take the lead on the delivery of care to paediatric patients and will need to travel to sites as required. The post holder will be involved in the development, line management, training and supervision of dentists.
