Are you ready to make your mark as part of our Business Development team? Then you’ve come to the right place. At White & Case, we’ll support you, give you responsibility and welcome you as an integral member of our global team from day one.

The Business Development Specialist is integral to driving the firm’s growth and strengthening key client relationships. Working as part of the global Marketing & Business Development team, you will collaborate with colleagues across Clients and Industries groups to deliver impactful initiatives that support the firm’s commercial and marketing objectives. The role involves working closely with senior BD professionals, partners, and lawyers to identify opportunities, create compelling client materials, and support strategic relationship management programmes, directly influencing client engagement and the firm’s ability to win new business.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to build a career in business development within a leading global firm, providing exposure to high-profile clients, international collaboration, and the chance to develop deep commercial and sector expertise. As a key step within the Relationship Management team, which oversees the firm’s largest and most strategic global client accounts, you will gain the skills, network, and experience needed to progress into more senior roles within the global BD function. The firm is seeking candidates who are curious, proactive, and commercially minded, and who thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The Marketing & Business Development team is central to the firm’s mission of achieving profitable growth, engaged people, and outstanding client relationships. United by a commitment to understanding client ambitions and anticipating challenges, the team combines strategic insight with a legacy of pioneering work and agile problem-solving to deliver real impact in complex, fast-changing environments. Team members work closely with colleagues worldwide to drive growth across key client accounts, expanding both revenue and the depth of relationships, and benefit from a supportive, high-performing, and internationally minded environment where their contributions have global visibility and impact from day one.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting the Global Clients Team on initiatives aligned with overall business objectives, including those for Global Key and Priority Clients and Global Industry Groups.
  • Developing an in-depth understanding of Global Key and Priority Client programmes and Global Industry Groups.
  • Supporting the planning and execution of annual security assessments in coordination with Office Managers
  • Coordinating efforts across business services, working closely with Marketing Ops, Business Intelligence, Marketing Technology, Market Research, and Creative Services teams.
  • Proactively maintaining and updating client organisation charts and relationship mapping documents for key and priority clients in each industry group.
  • Assisting with, and leading where possible, RFP responses.
  • Supporting the preparation and follow-up actions of client team meetings.
  • Regularly reviewing and using financial reports to support client development efforts.
  • Helping to update and maintain Connect and the Client Hub with best practice materials for the global client programme.
  • Supporting internal communication strategies and activities, including leading the creation and circulation of client-related BD newsletters.
  • Assisting in organising internal and external events, building relationships with key external organisations, and sharing information with colleagues across the Firm to ensure an integrated industry and practice offering.
Qualification and Skills
  • Graduate with at least three years’ relevant business development experience in a professional services firm.
  • Experience in professional or financial services, or a similar role at a large corporation.
  • Confidence in dealing with senior stakeholders and working autonomously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work at all levels.
  • Strong proficiency in systems and databases, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM applications.
  • Flexibility, commitment, and enthusiasm.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Team player with a client-focused approach.
  • Creative and strategic mindset, with initiative and ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
