Job summary

Bupa is seeking a Specialist Echo Physiologist to join their Cardiac Services in East London. You will perform advanced echocardiography, interpret findings, and deliver comprehensive reports for clinicians, while contributing to excellent patient care in a bank shift capacity.

Essential qualifications include a physiologist degree and TTE accreditation; CPD and 24-hour monitoring experience are beneficial.

Qualifications

• BSc (Hons) in Clinical Cardiac Physiology or BSc in Healthcare Science (Cardiac Physiology) or PTP equivalence (ESSENTIAL)
• TTE Level 2 accreditation by British Society of Echocardiography or EACVI Certification (ESSENTIAL)
• Evidence of maintaining CPD ILS - Immediate Life Support (ESSENTIAL)
• Stress Echocardiography Accreditation by British Society of Echocardiography (DESIRABLE)
• Appropriate clinical experience post qualification (ESSENTIAL)
• Highly developed specialist knowledge through training as a Clinical Physiologist (ESSENTIAL)

Responsibilities

• Perform a range of highly specialised cardiac ultrasound investigations, including adult transthoracic, contrast and bubble studies, 3D echocardiograms, dobutamine stress echocardiograms, assisting with TOE and producing final reports.
• Independently acquire and interpret echocardiographic images, producing comprehensive reports for referring clinicians.
• Perform and interpret 12-lead ECGs; fit, remove and analyze 24-hour Holter monitors.

About the centre

The Centre's secondary care services including muscle, bone and joint, orthopaedics, pain and spinal, dental and maxillofacial, breast and gynaecology, dermatology, cardiac, musculoskeletal, spinal, and urology, ENT, and will be able to perform procedures onsite. The centre provides rapid-access to numerous specialities.

How you'll make things happen:

You'll perform a range of highly specialised cardiac ultrasound investigations, including adult transthoracic, contrast (for left ventricular opacification) and bubble study echocardiograms, 3D echocardiograms, dobutamine stress echocardiograms, assisting with transoesophageal echocardiograms, performing accurate and reproducible measurements and quantification, interpret findings and independently issue final clinically diagnostic reports, to a competent, highly specialised professional standard.

You will have the following:

Able to perform transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE) in accordance with British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) standards. Independently acquire and interpret echocardiographic images, producing comprehensive reports for referring clinicians.

To perform and interpret 12 lead ECGs; Fit, removal and analysis of 24 hour Holter/BP monitors.

What you’ll bring:

BSc (Hons) in Clinical Cardiac Physiology or BSc in Healthcare Science (Cardiac Physiology) or PTP equivalence (ESSENTIAL)

Transthoracic (TTE) Level 2 accreditation by British Society of Echocardiography or Adult Transthoracic Echocardiography Certification by the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI) ( ESSENTIAL)

Evidence of maintaining relevant Continuing Professional Development ILS - Immediate Life Support Course (ESSENTIAL)

Stress Echocardiography Accreditation by British Society of Echocardiography MSc in a Cardiac Physiology related subject or STP equivalence in Cardiac Imaging (DESIREABLE)

Appropriate clinical experience post qualification. (ESSENTIAL)

Highly developed specialist knowledge acquired through training as a Clinical Physiologist. (ESSENTIAL)
