Location: 33 Grosvenor Place, London SW1X 7HY, with some cross site working expected.

Cleveland Clinic London are looking to recruit a Specialist Dietitian – Gastroenterology to join our Dietetics Team with a competitive salary range on offer, starting from £45,000

This is a Monday-Friday role with the following shift patterns :

0830-1630 (flexibility required between 0800-1800)

There are on call requirements within this role.

This role will focus on developing, delivering and evaluating a highly specialist and evidence-based Nutrition and Dietetic service with the provision of expert dietetic assessment, treatment and advice. As an experienced practitioner, the Specialist dietitian will work alongside Pharmacy and the Advanced Specialist dietitians and will provide dietetic input into the multidisciplinary Nutrition Support Team. This role will be responsible for the dissemination of clinical updates relating to the wards. There is an expectation that this role will contribute to provision of on call remote dietetic weekend and bank holiday cover – all dietitians within the team on a rota basis will cover this. In order to meet the changing demands of an evolving dietetic service, the post holder will also provide support with ward cover and general dietetic clinic cover routinely.

What will your duties include?
  • Assists with the development and delivery of the Gastroenterology, Nutrition and Dietetic service – advises on policy, guidance and standards in order to ensure that high quality dietetic input is provided to all patients.
  • Works autonomously and within the multidisciplinary team in providing expert dietetic assessment of patients with diverse and highly complex physical healthcare needs. This will include the calculation of nutritional requirements, interpretation of relevant biochemistry and consideration of anthropometry, physical and mental health parameters and clinical condition.
  • Educates, trains and provides clinical supervision and clinical leadership to dietitians, and other healthcare professionals in the management of nutrition and hydration.
  • Takes part in clinical audit projects in order to monitor and review dietetic input and effectiveness
  • Provides specialist dietetic advice to the multidisciplinary team through attendance and participation in MDT meetings and ward rounds.
  • Specialist knowledge of evidence-based practice in the nutritional management of patients within complex nutrition support (enteral and parenteral).
What we need from you?

BSc (Hons) Nutrition and Dietetics or Postgraduate diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics. (required)

Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council. (required)

Evidence of ongoing professional development and training in specialist area. (required)

Evidence of involvement in the facilitation of clinical Dietetic student placements (clinical supervisory skills training). (required)

Previous experience working with Gastroenterology cases as a Specialist Dietitian (required)
