Role Overview

As a Band 6 Specialist Dietitian within ESHT, you will be supported in the Acute settings. Your duties include providing specialist advice to Stroke, Frailty, Surgery, Gastroenterology and Orthopaedics inpatients in the Acute Hospitals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist advice to Stroke, Frailty, Surgery, Gastroenterology and Orthopaedics inpatients in the acute hospitals.
  • Liaise closely with patients’ relatives and carers regarding ongoing nutritional care and discharge planning.
  • Provide expert nutritional advice and knowledge to the wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Manage dietetic care for general medical, surgical and rehabilitation inpatients.
  • Provide leadership and support to the Clinical Leads within the team and supervise junior staff, including line‑management duties.
  • Provide training to nursing and catering staff, patients and carers, and third‑sector organisations.
  • Develop, audit and maintain resources to support educational development within East Sussex Healthcare.
  • Support training and supervision of student dietitians during clinical placements.
  • Conduct regular audits of the services provided.
