We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Dietitian at Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust to join the Community Dietetic Team at St Catherines House. You will be responsible for managing a specialist clinical dietetic caseload across Doncaster, providing high-quality care to patients in inpatient, day-patient, care home and community settings. You will support patients across a range of services, including neurology, community stroke rehabilitation, intermediate care, mental health and learning disabilities. You will also use your advanced knowledge and skills in enteral feeding management, provide specialist training to health and social care professionals, prioritise clinical needs effectively and ensure appropriate consent is obtained before dietetic interventions.
As a Specialist Dietitian, you will be responsible for undertaking highly specialised nutritional assessments of complex patients, using clinical interviews, medical and social histories, biochemical results, anthropometric measurements and nutritional calculations. You will liaise with relevant professionals to obtain additional clinical information where required and take a lead role in assessing and managing patients requiring oral nutritional supplements. You will also develop evidence‑based, individualised dietetic care plans in collaboration with patients and their carers, applying clinical judgement to calculate nutritional requirements, establish patient‑centred goals and determine appropriate interventions based on medical needs and prognosis.
