Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Public Dental Service as a Specialist Dental Officer – Paediatric Services. The post will be based at the Northwest Area Centre.

Hours and Shift Pattern

This is a permanent part time position – 7.5 hours per week, 8.30am – 4.30pm. Day is negotiable.

Salary: £100715.00 - £108659.00

What you will do

The successful candidate will work closely with the Paediatric Senior Dental Officer in the monitoring and development of patient treatment and access to treatment for paediatric patients, throughout Ayrshire & Arran. You will provide a wide range of primary dental care to clients of the NHS Ayrshire & Arran Dental Service, particularly including treatments within the traditional Public Dental Service remit, or meeting the regulations governing General Dental Services as set out and amended by the Scottish Government Health Department.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job
  • Have an additional relevant postgraduate qualification and experience and are on the Specialist list of the GDC.
  • Significant experience of providing NHS Dental Services.
  • Experience working in the PDS environment.
  • Have recorded experience in the clinical Specialism.
Clinician within Primary Dental Care
  • Providing dental care under sedation.
  • Providing care in a Secondary Care setting.
  • Involvement in wider professional activities.
Other requirements
  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle is essential to this role.
