Job description

We are looking for thoughtful, compassionate and innovative Specialist Clinical Psychologists to work with the NHS Children and Young People Gender Service (South West) – CYPGS SW, and within wider Psychological Health Services.

CYPGS SW is provided by a large multidisciplinary team (MDT). The specialist clinical psychologists will develop, deliver, and evaluate interventions and the service, supported by supervision and training to enhance clinical skills.

Responsibilities
  • Provide therapeutic services primarily into CYPGS SW, and also into paediatric medical and/or surgical specialties involving direct and indirect clinical work.
  • Deliver psychological services including assessment, formulation, and implementation of interventions for children/young people, adults and their families in ward-based and out‑patient settings as needed.
  • Provide psychological advice, consultation, training, and support for other professionals working across the care pathway, as assigned.
  • Support development and evaluation of the services.
  • Propose changes for service development, guidelines, and protocols relevant to psychological health across these care pathways, including children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
