Due to a maternity leave, an excellent opportunity has arisen within Brent Therapy Services for a Specialist Children’s Physiotherapist.

About the role

This is a fixed‑term post within the MSK team, with the possibility to work in other community settings such as preschool, community and schools teams, based in the culturally diverse London Borough of Brent. You will provide a high‑quality physiotherapy service to children and young people aged 0 to 16 years with MSK, orthopaedic and rheumatological conditions. You will hold a varied community caseload and be expected to undertake specialist assessments, devise client‑centred treatment interventions, and manage your own caseload across multiple settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist physiotherapy assessments and treatment programmes to children and young people with MSK/orthopaedic/rheumatological needs.
  • Manage a designated caseload, travelling between community settings as required.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching, medical and nursing staff to ensure specialist therapy programmes are in place.
  • Contribute to departmental meetings, clinical audit, and research projects.
  • Provide advice, training and education to other professionals, parents/carers and physiotherapy students.
  • Supervise the work of PTA’s and LSA’s.
  • Handle clinical, management, administration, supervision, training, professional and environmental responsibilities.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Previous paediatric physiotherapy experience, providing specialist physiotherapy to children in a variety of settings.
  • Experience in MSK, orthopaedic and rheumatology specialities.
  • Ability to manage a caseload autonomously and work with children who have English as an additional language (EAL).
  • Strong collaboration skills with children, parents/carers and colleagues in Health, Education and Social Services.
