A leading healthcare provider in the UK is seeking an experienced Specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Senior Practitioner for the Complex Health Hub. This role involves providing integrated care planning and support for young patients with mental health needs, while collaborating closely with system partners to ensure appropriate clinical intervention. Applicants must have relevant professional registration and Band 6 experience in CAMHS. This full-time, permanent position offers a salary between £47,810 and £54,710 annually.

Qualifications

  • Registered practitioner with current NMC, HCPC, or Social Work England registration.
  • Significant experience at Band 6 level, including CAMHS-related role.
  • A1 Vocational Assessor’s Qualification is desirable.

Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Senior Practitioner to join the Complex Health Hub at NNUH. This role forms part of the wider Complex Health Hub which is responsible for Safeguarding, Mental Health, Dementia, Learning Disability and Autism, Substance Misuse, MCA & DoLs, Homelessness and Prison Healthcare. The post holder will provide advice, guidance and care planning to those patients who require intervention for their Mental Health whilst an inpatient at NNUH, and will work closely with system partners to ensure a safe and appropriate discharge for any young person.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of integrated care planning and person‑centred interventions for children and young people up to the age of 25 with an identified mental health need and/or complex psychological needs.
  • Provide expert advice, guidance and support to staff on managing high‑risk patients using least restrictive and compassionate practice, and role‑model best practice.
  • Work in effective partnership with senior clinicians at NNUH, NSFT, NHSE, ICB, Social Care and CPFT to ensure appropriate pathways for accessing the correct clinical care.
  • Ensure regular contact with system partners to deliver an equitable service for this patient group.
  • Communicate effectively within the clinical areas of the hospital and chair multidisciplinary team meetings, acting on identified outcomes.
  • Demonstrate NNUH’s PRIDE values consistently and promote an inclusive culture.
Qualifications
  • Registered practitioner with a current valid registration with NMC, HCPC or Social Work England.
  • Post‑registration qualification relevant to the clinical areas.
  • Completed (or willing to complete within 12 months) the Independent and Supplementary Prescribing Level 7 course with a valid V300 registration, or an equivalent advanced qualification such as Approved Mental Health Practitioner.
Desirable
  • A1 Vocational Assessor’s Qualification or equivalent (e.g. D32 / D33).
Experience
  • Significant experience at Band 6 level, including a role relevant to the specialty (CAMHS).
