A healthcare provider in Hull is seeking a motivated Biomedical Scientist to supervise the Point of Care Testing department. The successful candidate will perform maintenance and troubleshooting of POCT equipment and ensure compliance with health and safety procedures. The Scarborough, Hull and York Pathology Service (SHYPS) is seeking a motivated Biomedical Scientist to work in the busy, friendly, Point of Care Testing (POCT) department at Hull Royal Infirmary. Based primarily in Hull, your role will be to supervise the day to day running of the POCT department. You will be required to perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of POCT equipment and oversee stock levels of reagents and consumables in all analytical areas. The post holder will be expected to work efficiently following departmental health and safety procedures and ensure that any problems are reported to the line manager. The post holder must ensure that personal proficiency and competencies are maintained and must be willing to take part in any training required to maintain an up-to-date knowledge of equipment and techniques. We are looking for an individual who is hard working, innovative, sociable, and works well as part of a busy team. Previous experience in POCT is desirable but not essential.
