A leading NHS organization in Bristol is seeking a Biomedical Scientist to join their team. The post holder will deliver accurate test results and support clinical investigations. Generative artificial intelligence (AI) describes algorithms that can be used to produce new content, including audio, code, images, text, simulations, and videos. It is developing all the time and is now being used as a support mechanism for all kinds of content‑based creations. Please note the use of AI is monitored and if applicants have used it then they are required to declare this.
The post holder will be part of a team providing a Haematology/BT service to the Trust. The team comprises Medical Laboratory Assistants, Biomedical Scientists, Clinical Scientists, clerical staff and Medical staff. The post holder will be expected to understand the need for analytical quality and clinical urgency, and take appropriate action when finding abnormal pathology results in order to maintain the highest standards of patient care.
The role is rota based. The contracted hours are 37.5 per week (full‑time equivalent) calculated over a 13‑week rota period. Depending on service needs, working hours may fluctuate within the contracted time.
