We havean exciting opportunity for a Specialist Biomedical Scientist in Haematologyand Blood Transfusion to join our dynamic Blood Sciences Department. You willbe required to work across our central laboratory at Stoke Mandeville Hospitaland our satellite site at Wycombe Hospital, with deployment to either locationas needed to support service delivery. You will support patient investigationsby preparing, storing, and using reagents and consumables appropriately,performing manual laboratory procedures such as precision pipetting, reagentpreparation, and complex analytical testing.
As aSpecialist Biomedical Scientist, you will process and analyse patient samplesacross one of the laboratorys four sub-sections on a rotational basis. Youwill apply current scientific knowledge and advanced methodologies to ensureaccurate and reliable test results. You will safely and proficiently usecomplex laboratory analysers, performing routine maintenance and performancechecks as required. Working as a valued member of the team, you will operatewith minimal supervision, deputising for senior staff when needed, and takeresponsibility for designated areas within the department according to yourspecialist expertise. Additionally, you will actively support and participatein the laboratorys Quality Management System to maintain high standards ofpractice and compliance.
