About the Role

We're looking for a compassionate, proactive Specialist Abuse Support Manager to lead a dedicated team supporting male victims of interpersonal abuse across the Black Country.

This is a vital frontline management role, providing trauma-informed support to men affected by domestic abuse, sexual violence, stalking, honour-based abuse, forced marriage, and other forms of interpersonal violence. You'll shape the service's ongoing development, strengthen partnerships, and ensure that the voices of male survivors are at the heart of everything we do.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support a team of specialist male abuse advocates to deliver high-quality, needs-led services.
  • Oversee complex casework, ensuring safeguarding standards, accurate risk assessments, and effective safety planning.
  • Build strong relationships with local partners, representing the service at multi‑agency meetings (MARAC, MASH, etc.).
  • Drive the ongoing growth and development of the service - identifying new opportunities, partnerships, and funding streams.
  • Monitor performance against KPIs, prepare reports, and contribute to service audits and quality standards (e.g. Lime Culture).
  • Develop awareness campaigns and training to challenge stigma and encourage more men to access support.
  • Embed lived experience and survivor involvement within service design and delivery.
About You

You'll be an empathetic, resilient leader with a strong understanding of interpersonal abuse and its impact on men. You'll have experience managing or supervising support teams, working within safeguarding frameworks, and advocating for vulnerable people with complex needs.

Essential experience:
  • Educated to minimum Level 3 or equivalent, with a good level of experience in Health and social care.
  • GCSEs English and Mathematics - Grade C or above.
  • Experience supporting adults affected by domestic or sexual abuse, or working in a related field (e.g. mental health, substance misuse, homelessness).
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and trauma‑informed approaches.
  • Experience managing a caseload (using a SMART approach).
  • Experience of supervision or management of people
  • Proven ability to manage caseloads, coordinate multi‑agency work, and write concise reports.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
Desirable:
  • IDVA/ISVA qualification.
  • Experience in service development, contract delivery, or performance monitoring.
  • Experience delivering training or awareness sessions.
