Job summary

Luma Education Recruitment is seeking Special Needs Tutors and Teaching Assistants for a hub in Bar Hill, near Cambridge. Roles are part-time (9am–3pm, Monday to Friday) under a temporary, ongoing contract.

You’ll work with young people with a range of learning needs, including SEN and SEMH, in small-group and individual learning plans. No teaching qualification is required; candidates with a driving license and access to a car are preferred due to location.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people, e.g., in a school, as a tutor or in youth work.
• Experience with SEN or SEMH is helpful but not essential.
• A driving licence and access to a car are required due to the location.
• No teaching qualification is needed.

Responsibilities

• Teach and tutor young people individually and in small groups.
• Support learners with special educational needs, including SEMH, to engage with their learning.
• Adapt work to suit each learner's learning plan.
• Encourage good routines and positive relationships during the day.
• Keep notes on progress and share them with staff.
