Qualifications

Special Needs Teaching Assistant

Exeter, start date flexible, salary £100‑£105 a day.

Overview

TeacherActive is proud to work with a SEND school in Exeter. The school welcomes children aged four to nineteen and supports those with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other moderate to severe learning difficulties.

Responsibilities

Work one‑to‑one or in small groups with primary and secondary aged children. Support teachers in lesson planning and delivery. Assist children with autism and other learning difficulties. Maintain a positive, nurturing classroom environment and collaborate with teaching staff to ensure each child’s educational needs are met.

Qualifications
  • 6 months experience in an education or care environment.
  • Experience working with SEND children or children with autism.
  • Previous experience working one‑to‑one or with small groups is preferred.
  • Experience working in a school environment will be an advantage.
