Job summary

Academics Ltd in Sittingbourne is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support children with complex learning needs and challenging behaviours. You will work 1:1 and in small groups, preparing resources and delivering tailored support under a teacher's guidance.

Excellent on-site training and CPD are provided. You must have the right to work in the UK. Salary will be determined by qualifications and experience according to the client's pay policy.

Qualifications

• Ability to prepare resources for teaching and learning activities.
• Ability to plan learning activities to suit student ability with support from a teacher.
• Personal and medical care including feeding and manual handling where necessary.
• Willing to work 1:1 and in small groups with students.
• Able to develop knowledge and experience to deliver appropriate support.
• Able to encourage the development of social skills and support students' individual needs.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to provide behaviour and pastoral support.
• Attend staff meetings and complete appropriate CPD.
• Ensure safeguarding of students.

Responsibilities

• Support children with complex learning needs in 1:1 and small group settings.
• Prepare resources for teaching and learning activities and deliver tailored support under supervision.
• Assist with personal and medical care including feeding and manual handling where necessary.
• Contribute to safeguarding and pastoral support and maintain professional boundaries.
• Attend staff meetings and engage in CPD to develop practice.
