Job description

Job Title: SEN Teacher

Location: Meldreth, Cambridgeshire/Hertfordshire border

Salary: £32,916 - £49,232 (M1-UPS2)

Hours: permanent, full-time (40 hours per week)

We are currently recruiting a qualified Teacher to join a wonderful independent day school provision based in Meldreth who support students aged 6 to 19 who have a range of PMLD, MLD and SLD needs including autism spectrum disorders, ADHD and associated difficulties

Due to the continued increase in the student role and expansion of the school provision, we are currently looking for a SEN Teacher to join the NAS accredited specialist team to create better outcomes and life chances for our students in their preparation for adult life. The post offers fantastic opportunities for an innovative SEN teacher with passion to bring further challenge and ambition to learning for learners with profound and complex needs.

We are looking for a passionate and skilled teacher to join the education team, where we are always striving to provide the highest quality of education and outcomes for our young people in preparation for adult life.

It will be your responsibility to plan and deliver high quality teaching and learning within a meaningful and engaging curriculum that stretches and challenges all learners within your class.

Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate:
  • PGCE, QTS or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training
  • Working knowledge of the Teacher Standards and expectations
  • Knowledge and personal experience of SEN learning particularly sensory lead curriculums
  • Positive team working, being able to contribute to our established team
  • Diligence and accuracy in assessing, reporting and recording
  • The ability to lead and direct other adults supporting within the class
  • The role may require participation in physical intervention and personal care routines
