Overview

Special Education Needs Teacher role at TieTalent. Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs required in West Midlands. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support. We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN (Special Education Needs) / SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties).

This role is ideal for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who are eager to work via 1:1 tutoring with children and young people with a variety of learning needs, in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner, to raise engagement and drastically improve the educational journey of the learners.

• Contract type: Part-time to full-time hours available (flexible to your schedule)

The SEN / SEND Tutor role

• Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs
• Children are referred by local authorities and schools and may require support in their educational and social-emotional journey
• Provide support via flexible and holistic trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring

SEN / SEND Tutor tasks and responsibilities

• Plan each tutoring/mentoring session
• Deliver holistic and engaging sessions to meet individual needs and advance educational and social-emotional development
• Complete lesson reports and provide progress feedback

SEN / SEND Tutor requirements

• Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
• Minimum 2 years teaching experience
• Experience with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs
• Understanding of safeguarding processes
• Enhanced DBS (we can assist to obtain at cost if needed)
• Two professional references
• Based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, including remote/online work

It is a strict requirement to promote the health, safety and wellbeing of children and young people and to follow safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.

SEN / SEND Tutor employment status

• Engagement as a Worker for short-term assignments; contracted for service and paid via PAYE
• No guaranteed set amount of work or expenses coverage
• Our insurance covers the work you do for us
• This is not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position
