Special Education Class Teacher & Maths Lead or SEND Class Teacher – Penn Hall School – Permanent position

The Opportunity As a Class Teacher at Penn Hall School, you’ll be more than an educator – you’ll be an advocate, role model, and inspiration for our pupils. In this role, you will also take on responsibility as whole school Maths Lead, shaping and delivering a high-quality mathematics curriculum that meets the diverse needs of our learners.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver creative and engaging lessons tailored to individual pupils.
  • Lead the development of maths teaching across the school, ensuring it is inclusive, aspirational, and accessible (Maths Lead role only).
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan innovative, thematic learning opportunities.
  • Use wider subject knowledge (English, science, ICT) to enrich and connect learning.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, fostering independence, confidence, and a love of learning.
Qualifications & Profile
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
  • Maths specialist (Maths Lead role only).
  • Genuine passion for special education – previous experience desirable but not essential; full training and support provided.
  • Reflective, resilient, and committed to ongoing professional development.
  • Share our values of inclusion, respect, and unconditional positive regard for every child.
  • Fluent spoken English – essential requirement (covering Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016).

Application Details

Experience with learners with complex SEN is desirable but not essential; training will be provided. We highly encourage visiting our school to witness our inclusive and supportive environment first hand.

Enhanced DBS clearance is required. A suitable DBS for working with children must be obtained.

Grade dependent on experience, SEN allowance, and TLR. Hours: 32.4 per week. Contract: Permanent.

Closing and Interviews

Closing date: Monday 24th November 2025 at 12:00 noon. Interviews will take place either Thursday 4th or Friday 5th December 2025.
