Job summary

Washington County Public Schools seeks a Paraprofessional in the Lincolnshire Elementary School to support students in Special Education. The position starts at an hourly rate of $19.26 with potential earnings up to $34.84 per hour on the ESP Salary Scale.

Work 7 hours per day, 10 months per year, reporting to the Building Administrator. Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and Highly Qualified status, plus two years of experience with children.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Highly Qualified status criteria: AA degree, 48 credit hours, or passed Paraprofessional Assessment Test.
• Two years of experience working with children or equivalent education/experience.
• Ability to lift 30–50 pounds.
• Regular and predictable attendance; essential function.

Responsibilities

• Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce skills.
• Assist teacher in devising strategies and reinforcing instruction.
• Maintain classroom organization and a positive learning environment.
• Operate and help with classroom equipment.
• Supervise and manage students during instructional and non-instructional activities.
• Assist with physical care and management as needed.
• Follow through on individual programs designed by the teacher.
• Participate in team planning and communicate professionally with stakeholders.
