Job summary

Currys Newark Distribution Centre is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to support spare parts orders for repairs. This permanent, full-time role is office based, 37.5 hours per week, with an 8 am–4 pm shift.

You will assist Buyers, track orders, manage stock levels, and provide data to negotiate with suppliers, helping to reduce costs while maintaining high service standards. Join a team focused on improving availability, supplier performance, and customer satisfaction in a busy repair environment.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a Purchasing environment.
• A good level of Maths and English.
• Drive personal performance to support own development.
• Allocate and efficiently manage own time.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Technical understanding of the workings of the products supported.

Responsibilities

• Assist Buyers with placing and tracking orders for spare parts.
• Provide basic enquiries and order status updates across reporting functions.
• Monitor stock levels and alert urgent purchasing needs.
• Keep accurate records of purchases and supplier details.
• Support negotiations by supplying data and helping compare offers.
• Track supplier performance based on lead times, quality and availability.
