Job summary

Space Machines Company is seeking a Mechanical Engineer - Structures to lead end-to-end design, analysis and testing of Rendezvous and Proximity Operations capable spacecraft. You will own structural design from concept to production, emphasizing optical payloads and integration with subsystems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in aerospace or another highly technical engineering field.
• Design and analysis of structural components and systems, including vibration and acoustic analysis.
• Static, dynamic and acoustic simulations using professional analysis tools.
• CAD design and drafting from concept through physical implementation.
• Algorithmic design and topology optimisation.
• Foundational knowledge of design for space applications.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver projects from conceptual design through final integration.
• Design and analyse structural components for space vehicles.
• Deliver optimised components with topology optimisation.
• Verify and validate spacecraft structural performance.
• Ensure compliance with vehicle and unit level requirements.
• Document work and communicate across disciplines.
• Drive innovation and iteration with limited information.
