Job summary

SSTL in Guildford is seeking an Electronics Engineer for the Optical Payload Group. You will lead verification, testing and debugging of imager electronics for SSTL Optical Payloads, and develop test plans across digital, analogue and mixed-signal domains.

This cradle-to-grave role covers concept to AIT, launch, and commissioning, with collaboration across disciplines. A degree in Electronics Engineering and hands-on lab experience are essential; strong problem-solving and communication skills

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in electronics verification, testing and debugging.
• Knowledge of mixed-signal testing and validation.
• Proficiency with lab test equipment and test automation.

Responsibilities

• Lead verification, testing, and debugging of imager electronics for SSTL Optical Payloads.
• Develop and execute test plans for digital, analogue, and mixed-signal electronics.
• Perform circuit-level debugging using lab equipment and diagnostic tools.
• Conduct board-level validation, characterisation, and performance assessment.
• Support design teams by reviewing schematics and layouts for testability.
• Carry out circuit simulations to support verification activities.
• Prepare electronics for manufacture and acceptance testing under space-environment requirements.
• Design and maintain Electronics Ground Support Equipment with a focus on test automation.
• Produce high-quality technical documents including test procedures and validation reports.
• Manage budgets and schedules related to verification and test activities.
• Interface at system/subsystem level to ensure test coverage and traceability.
